We are looking for a CONTROLS PROJECT ENGINEER to join our Energy Solutions group located in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will report directly to Energy Solutions Business Manager and will assist in TUDI’s growth and direction of a new department to provide energy solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and understand technical specifications, construction plans and contract requirements.
• Perform site walkthroughs to evaluate existing building controls systems.
• Listen to a project narrative and determine an energy management scope of work for sales and estimating.
• Select components and devices required for an operational DDC/ATC system.
• Create engineered control drawings for project installation and customer review.
• Design system performance to achieve optimal energy savings.
• Develop system programming to turnover to startup technician.
• Purchase materials for assigned projects and coordinate project installation.
• Define project schedules and status updates to owner representatives.
• Maintain required project documentation and file system.
• Coordinate installation, startup, training, and project closeout.
• Track project costs and financial performance for project profitability.

SKILLS:

• Strong computer experience, organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Electronics or HVAC Technologies.
• Must have 5 years experience with DDC and ATC systems and HVAC controls in design and programming.
• Working experience with AutoCAD or Visio drawing software.
• Must have a full understanding of typical HVAC systems such as boilers, chillers, heat pump systems, air handlers, and terminal equipment.
• A broad understanding of building construction, especially piping and sheet metal systems.
